As you probably have noticed by the scarce amount of blog entries on this page, this blog is new. Our plan over the next year is to share our knowledge with you. Let’s talk a little bit about how this blog is going to work. I guess we can do that by stating what this blog will not include: long, boring corporate blabbering. It will include: News, Software Reviews, Security Trends, Project Management and Training.
News: Upcoming training courses, seminars, and events that Off Peak Training will host or attend. As well as hot topics that Off Peak Training Corporation finds interesting enough to share with our customers.
Software Reviews: What can I say? We are software people. We like using it and we like critiquing it. Why are we so critical? Well let’s just say engineers are making good money to make our lives easier. I like my life being easier and I think engineers deserve a fair trial. The software that we will review on this site is the software that we use on a regular basis, business productivity software. I know it sounds boring, but with a little luck we might actually perk your interest and save you some time by not having to evaluate the product yourself. We do not endorse any products. We may however recommend a business productivity tool if we like it.
Security Trends: This can be a pretty fun topic. It can be boring too, so we will make every effort to keep these posts caffeinated. We collectively have a fairly strong background in Information Technology and happen to really like it. Chris Schulz is by far the security expert in our group and we will rely heavily on his input in the arena.
Project Management: We love project management. Chris Talmont and I had the opportunity at a past employer to travel the world helping a wide variety of industries initiate, execute and control their projects. Some of our favorites were the auto industry, construction management, and a beloved fruit company located in Cupertino, California. By hopping from industry to industry we were able to cross pollinate business best practices. It is amazing how much you can learn by teaching. We made every effort to share best practices.
Training: Lastly this blog will include free training. (What did he just say?) Yes folks, f r e e training. What kind of training you ask? Let’s just say that if we offer an instructor led course on a certification or application then we will most certainly offer some freebee lessons online.
So please come back and visit our blog. We promise to have new postings at least monthly. I know that is not enough. How about bi weekly? You know that means every two weeks and not twice a week right? So there you have it. That is where we will start and hopefully we can deliver some valuable content for you. Please feel free to comment directly to a post if you have some feedback. If you would like to request we evaluate a product please contact us using the Contact Us page.
Thank you so much.
